Dana White saw playoff baseball and college football on the schedule and figured we hadn’t lost enough money yet. Fine. Put the fights on.

[UFC 332](https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-332?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) goes down October 3 in Salt Lake City, headlined by Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong, with Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Payton Talbott in the co-main event. The main card starts at 5 p.m. Pacific on CBS and Paramount+.

This card doesn’t look all that exciting on paper, but a few rising fighters and veterans who can still throw down could make it worth your Saturday night. We’re breaking down the main event, co-main event, our favorite fighter on the card, and our pick for Fight of the Night—with the bets we like along the way.

*Matchup moneylines from* [*UFC’s official card*](https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-332?ref=poorsportsmanship.net)*, checked October 2\. Odds can move.*

## Natalia Silva (-205) vs. Wang Cong (+170) — Main Event: Women’s Flyweight Championship, Five Rounds

Chick fight as the main event. Last one I saw was outside a Chili’s. Silva and Wang face off for the belt after Valentina Shevchenko vacated it because of injury. A new champion gets crowned Saturday.

[Silva](https://www.ufc.com.br/news/conheca-lutadores-brasileiros-ufc-332?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) beats ass. She’s beaten Jessica Andrade, Alexa Grasso and Rose Namajunas in consecutive fights, all by unanimous decision. Three former champions. The Brazilian has faced much stronger MMA competition than Wang, and her movement is what makes her such a problem. She attacks with kicks, changes angles and forces opponents to reset before they can get anything going. Her 90.3% takedown-defense rate means putting her on her back isn’t much of an escape plan, either.

[Wang](https://www.ufc.com/athlete/wang-cong?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) comes in with four straight unanimous-decision wins. Her 58.2% significant-strike accuracy is the best in UFC women’s flyweight history, according to UFC. She’s a sharp boxer, but only two of her 10 MMA wins have come by KO/TKO. We’re not expecting her to knock Silva on her ass.

This is the [first UFC main event for both women](https://www.ufc.com/news/journey-flyweight-title-natalia-silva-vs-wang-cong-ufc-332?ref=poorsportsmanship.net), so neither has been tested in UFC championship rounds. Add Salt Lake City’s altitude, and we’ll find out who packed enough gas for a five-round fight.

**Our pick: Silva by decision (-110)**

Silva has beaten better fighters and knows how to keep the fight at her distance. Wang needs to stay on her and make her work, but catching Silva consistently is easier said than done. We see her movement and cleaner work carrying her through five rounds.

## Deiveson Figueiredo (+475) vs. Payton Talbott (-650) — Co-Main Event, Bantamweight, Three Rounds

Figgy is a former two-time UFC flyweight champion who moved to bantamweight in 2023\. He came out hot with wins over Rob Font, Cody Garbrandt and Marlon Vera, but he’s [lost four of his last five](https://www.ufc.com.br/news/10-what-wicked-october-it-will-be?ref=poorsportsmanship.net), with those losses coming against Petr Yan, Cory Sandhagen, Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong. Brutal run of opponents. The question is how much of this is the competition and how much is a 38-year-old slowing down.

[Talbott](https://www.ufc.com/athlete/payton-talbott?page=1&ref=poorsportsmanship.net) is 5–1 in the UFC, with seven knockout wins across his entire professional career. He returns after beating Henry Cejudo by unanimous decision in December. His only loss came against Raoni Barcelos in January 2025… which lost me enough money to rethink my life. The 28-year-old is talented and creative with what he throws. He’ll need to keep the exchanges active, use his length and avoid giving Figgy time to set up big counters.

**Our pick: Over 2.5 rounds (-120)**

We lean Talbott, but beating Figueiredo is still a significant test, and we’re definitely not paying the [\-650 ML listed on UFC’s card](https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-332?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) to find out. Talbott’s last two wins went the distance, and we expect Figgy to make him work for this one. The old man isn’t showing up just to get tucked into bed.

## Our Favorite Fighter on the Card: Jacobe Smith (-1300) vs. Bruce Whitehead (+800)

This dude is scary. We watched him beat the living piss out of Josiah Harrell in February and came away convinced he’ll be a UFC champion one day. The former Oklahoma State wrestler is [12–0 professionally and 3–0 in the UFC](https://www.ufc.com/athlete/jacobe-smith?ref=poorsportsmanship.net), with 10 finishes, eight in the first round. Bruce Whitehead gets him for his UFC debut. Welcome to the company buddy.

[Whitehead](https://www.ufc.com/athlete/bruce-whitehead?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) is a 29-year-old firefighter from Houston with an 8–2 record. He wrestled in college and holds a jiu-jitsu black belt, so he has more going for him than the willingness to sign this contract. He [stopped Ali Abouzalam in just 48 seconds](https://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Bruce-Whitehead-176151?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) at Fury FC on September 20\. Thirteen days later, he gets Jacobe Smith.

**Our pick: Smith by submission (+475)**

Now this is a bit of a dart throw but Smith has the wrestling to get Whitehead down, and we’ve already seen him finish Niko Price with a rear-naked choke. The angle here is the punches setting up the submission. If Whitehead turns to escape the ground-and-pound, Smith could get his back and find the neck. Nine of Smith’s 12 wins have come by knockout, but at +475, we like taking a shot on the choke.

## Our Fight of the Night: King Green (+175) vs. Esteban “El Gringo” Ribovics (-210) — Lightweight, Three Rounds

Everybody loves a King Green fight. We absolutely do. Arguably the most entertaining fighter on the roster gets a willing dance partner in Ribovics. Green is having a monstrous year at 40, going [3–0 in 2026 with three finishes](https://jp.ufc.com/news/fight-fight-preview-ufc-332-silva-vs-wang-salt-lake-city?ref=poorsportsmanship.net). His last win came against Terrance McKinney in July, when he pulled a first-round TKO out of his ass with one second left on the clock.

[Ribovics](https://www.ufc.com/athlete/esteban-ribovics?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) will happily throw hands with Green. This guy likes to bang. He has 13 finishes in 16 wins—eight knockouts and five submissions—and returns just 49 days after stopping Edson Barboza in August.

This one should be fireworks. Ribovics’ listed career averages are 7.43 significant strikes landed per minute and 5.74 absorbed. [Green’s](https://www.ufc.com/athlete/bobby-green?page=3&ref=poorsportsmanship.net) are 6.49 landed and 3.63 absorbed. There should be plenty coming back in both directions. Green is 40 and finishing guys like he’s still trying to get signed. Ribovics is ten years younger and willing to toss hands.

**Our pick: Ribovics by KO/TKO (+130)**

God, I hate betting against Green. Every time I do, it comes back to bite me in the ass. But we like Ribovics to end his run. His pressure and combinations should give Green problems, and that last win deserves some context: [McKinney had Green nearly finished](https://www.ufc.com.br/news/ufc-329-mcgregor-vs-holloway-2-results?ref=poorsportsmanship.net) before the comeback. Credit to Green for surviving, but we’re betting Ribovics won’t let him off the hook.

We started this preview pissed at Dana for adding a BS card to our weekend and finished it with four picks and a personal investment in Jacobe Smith’s career. Fine, Dana. We’ll watch. But if King Green knocks Ribovics out, I’m turning on fucking [Fresno State vs. Washington State](https://gobulldogs.com/news/2026/9/28/football-bulldogs-open-pac-12-play-at-washington-state?ref=poorsportsmanship.net).
